Video game cover art is designed to attract the consumer towards purchasing the game. With this in mind we ask the question of what were they thinking when they released these strange video game covers? They range from older Atari games to even new games on the Nintendo Wii or DS.
Scrapyard Dog (Atari)
My, what a big nose you have.
Rafa Nadal Tennis (Nintendo DS)
A photoshopper’s dream.
Phalanx (Super Nintendo)
Yee haw, banjos and spaceships!
Pet Pals (Nintendo DS)
Never seen so many creepy looks. Why are all these people so happy that their pets are sick?
Pac Man (Atari)
Since when does Pacman have legs? And wouldn’t all that running make his legs a little less noodley?
Metro Games (PC)
I’m totally catching sweet air dude! Look at me!
Mega Man (Nintendo)
Mega Man has massive bowlegs, yet we’ve never seen him ride a horse. I think they were going for a Tron feel here.

Jackie Chan Stunt (Playstation 1)
Hey look, it’s Jackie Chan….doing a jump kick…..above the city…..with a pool cue.
Party Babyz (Nintendo Wii)
Maybe the most disturbing cover art we will ever see.
E.T. (Playstation 1)
E.T. look out! That guy is gonna come try and steal that plant you’re fondling oh-so-gently.

Donkey Kong (Atari)
Dunno what the weirdest part about this picture is, Mario’s Superman costume, his wicked mullet and sideburns, the absence of his cap, or those friggin fangs on Donkey Kong….If he has those things, why does he have to resort to barrel-chucking?
Dig Dug (Atari)
That’s right, dragon guy, Dig Dug is gonna blow up your manhood next.
Bayou Billy (Nintendo)
That’s not a knoife…….THAT’S a knoife. Obvious Crocodile Dundee rip-off is obvious.
Bad Dudes (Nintendo)
Terrorists, helicopters, chains, and throwing stars are no match for these BAD DUDES. Let’s go get a burger. Ha ha ha ha…
Anticipation (Nintendo)
We’ve come quite a long way from the days where every gamer was a bad sweater-wearing dweeb. Note to models: I think you’re supposed to be looking at the “game” and getting excited, not the camera.
Strider (Sega)
You are no match for my purple pants and my vibrating sword!
